Mother’s Day 2018

Snuggled warm in bed on a chilly May Sunday, I listened to my sons clanging around in the kitchen, making what was sure to be a thoughtful and ‘interesting’ Mother’s Day Breakfast.  Fiercely whispered instructions and a bit of shoving as they came down the hall way, laden with coffee and eggs on toast and presents aplenty, being careful not to spill them all on the bed.

The boys had a treasure trove of gifts, sourced from the Mother’s Day stall, run again this year by the dedicated volunteers in the P&F.  They proudly showed me their purchases, rose soap, scented candles, foot salts, stunning necklaces, pretty fabric key rings, car diffusers and of course….chocolates!

It’s these moments that I will remember, that will stay with me as the years go on.  It’s the gifts they choose themselves, it’s the gifts they make in class, gifts they present with smiles beaming with pride, that stay within your memories forever.

I hope that many of our Mums, Step-Mum’s, Grandma’s and Nana’s had similar happy experiences on Mother’s Day and that your little ones filled you with joy.

Thank you to all the P&F for their fantastic efforts in sourcing what turned out to be, the most beautiful assortment of gifts and handmade items to date, along with their hard work in creating many of the gifts themselves.

Special thanks go to Kylie, Therese and Esther for going above and beyond.
