Mother’s Day is that one day of the year when I know that I am going to be allowed to sleep for as long as I like. If you are anything like me however, that means until 7.30am with three or four wakes ups along the way and whispers of ‘Happy Mother’s Day Mummy’. In saying that, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This year I got to spend Mother’s Day with my beautiful children, but also with my own mother. I really believe you never truly appreciate your mum and the sacrifices that they make for you until you are a mum yourself. I hope that many of our Mums, Step-Mums, Grandmas and Nannas had a magical Mother’s Day and felt truly appreciated for all the support and love that they provide.
Again, this year for Mother’s Day I was spoilt with home-made presents from childcare and school along with some beautifully selected gifts from the Mother’s Day Stall. The options at the stall this year were endless. Drink bottles, necklaces, candles, key chains, coffee mugs and cookies and many more assortments of goodies. Of course, I’m sure my kids select the cookies so that they can be ‘shared’ with them.
A big thank you to our wonderful P&F team who always put in an amazing effort in sourcing and making such lovely items for the children to buy, plus everything else that goes into planning and holding the Mother’s Day Stall. We do have lots of fun doing this!! Another big thank you to all of our St Michael’s students and families who support our school by doing their shopping with us. We hope all the mums (and grandmas) out there enjoyed their personally selected gifts, but more importantly, some precious time with their families.
