DONUT DAY

227

227 is a prime number. Like all primes greater than two, it is odd and has no factors apart from itself and one……..it was also the number of donuts disappearing into happy little mouths at recess today, translating into $380 profit that the P&F can put towards our major fundraising target of $12,000 for the creation of a sensory garden.

Thank you to every parent who helped support the P&F by buying their child a donut today.  Check out the photo’s below to see if your child is doing the donut smile!

Foundation Bible Presentation

On Friday morning at Chapel, P&F Chairperson Carly Mickan and P&F Secretary Tammy Kowald were privileged to present, along with Principal Terri Taylor, The Jesus Storybook Bible to all our 2017 Foundation students.  The P&F gifts these bibles to our Foundation students each year to welcome them to the school and it is a delight to watch their faces light up as they each take the stage and receive their book.

We hope that the students and their families enjoy reading these bibles together.

CLIMBING FRAME

We hope that students are enjoying the new climbing frame installed in the playground in February. The fundraising for this frame was undertaken over a number of years including the school’s first Family Fun Day in 2013. Some families may remember that plans were underway for crickets nets to be erected, but after consulting with an expert regarding these nets, the school was advised that there was not a position suitable for them on the oval and the school and P&F made the decision in 2016 to purchase the spider climbing frame. This frame replaced the broken swing that was previously in that location.

SENSORY GARDEN

This year, the P&F is excited to announce that the school council has approved the creation of a bespoke sensory garden. This garden will be installed in the area outside the Junior Learning Committee classrooms, transforming the wet and boggy grassed area into useable play space.

This will be a wonderful addition to our existing nature play area in Porters Block. The sensory garden will include a mud kitchen, a stony creek with running water, sandpit and many other features. The fantastic fundraising efforts from the 2016 Family Fun Day will go towards this garden, but the P&F still has a target of an additional $12,000 to raise this year to make this sensory garden a reality.

In the coming weeks a large scale version of the plans for the garden will be on display at the school for you all to see.
